The New Works is currently adapting the Walter Van Tilburg Clark novel The Track of the Cat for production in 2008. Set in Nevada in 1900, this Chekhovian tale follows an isolated family stranded on an isolated snow plain, stalked by a black panther and their own individual fears of change.

There is a public reading of The Track of the Cat in San Francisco at the San Francisco Playwright Centre on April 25th at 7.30pm, directed by Graeme Maley.

Houdini

The New Works have just shot a black and white, 16mm short film, commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company. The film was first screened at the Philharmonic Hall, and highlights the great escapologist Houdini on his return to Liverpool...
